da.paper is an independent editorial platform based in Paris, focused on contemporary architecture, minimal design and visual culture. Driven by a clear vision, with a sharp selection: Less, but better. Featuring the work of renowned houses as well as emerging and experimental labels, alternative music, and design projects with high aesthetic quality (firmitas, utilitas, venustas).
The architecture studio Dorte Mandrup won the competition, to build 'THE WHALE', a poetic and spectacular project in Norway. The building is expected to open in 2022.
"300 km North of the Arctic Circle in a magnificent and ancient landscape, the new building will rise as a soft hill on the rocky shore – as if a giant had lifted a thin layer of the crust of the earth and created a cavity underneath."
