ÉTOILE CINÉMAS BÉTHUNE BY OLIVIER PALATRE ARCHITECTES

Designed by Olivier Palatre Architectes and completed in 2020, Étoile Cinémas Béthune is a nine-screen multiplex that has become a new cultural landmark in the heart of the station district. Inspired by the vibrant lights of Broadway and the architecture of grand entertainment venues, the building stands out for its monolithic concrete volume, wrapped in a perforated metal double skin illuminated by LEDs, creating the effect of a starry sky after dark. Inside, bold colors, particularly blue and orange, along with spacious circulation areas, create a theatrical and immersive atmosphere. The project transforms the cinema into a vibrant social and urban gathering place, where architecture becomes an integral part of the cinematic experience.
