AGNES PUSHES ALTERNATIVE POP INTO DARKER TERRITORY WITH ‘BEAUTIFUL MADNESS’

Agnes’s BEAUTIFUL MADNESS album, moves far beyond traditional pop territory, diving into a darker, more immersive electronic universe. Following the critically acclaimed Magic Still Exists, the Swedish artist continues her artistic transformation with a project designed more as a full sonic experience than a collection of radio singles.

Built around European club influences, minimalist textures and hypnotic atmospheres, the album blends alternative electro, experimental pop and late-night energy. Tracks like “TRIGGER,” “WAKE UP,” “MILK,” and “BALENCIAGA COVERED EYES” capture the record’s bold direction perfectly. “MILK,” in particular, echoes the robotic and retro-futuristic production style associated with Daft Punk.

Agnes has also cited Mark Rothko as a visual inspiration, aiming to create more emotional space through silence, transitions and atmosphere. That influence can be felt throughout the album, where interludes become just as important as the songs themselves. With 15 tracks and a deliberately compact runtime, BEAUTIFUL MADNESS embraces a more conceptual and artistic identity. Less focused on mainstream pop formulas, the album sits somewhere between electronic music, fashion and performance art.
The project was created alongside longtime collaborators Salem Al Fakir, Vincent Pontare, Magnus Lidehäll and Kerstin Ljungström.  Stay tuned for more quite soon.
