TALLER DI FRENNA ARQUITECTOS IN COLIMA, MEXICO

Taller Di Frenna Arquitectos has designed its own studio in Colima, Mexico as both a workplace/offices and a creative laboratory. The building brings together workspaces, meeting rooms, audiovisual areas, and a model workshop, encouraging collaboration and supporting all stages of the architectural process.

Organized as a series of clear volumes, the project reflects the studio’s design philosophy through the use of exposed materials such as steel, concrete, charred wood, and stone. These elements highlight structural honesty, texture, and craftsmanship while combining industrial and natural qualities.

Interior courtyards play a central role by introducing natural light, vegetation, and spatial continuity. They create connections between spaces and offer areas for informal interaction, enhancing the working environment.

Developed with local artisans, the building showcases a balance between contemporary design and traditional construction techniques, embodying the studio’s approach to architecture.
